Birth to Five is a subcommittee of the Ingham Human Services Advisory Committee (HSAC)/ Power of We which is the multipurpose collaborative board for human service agencies in the Capital Area. The Birth to Five subcommittee serves as the interagency working group for the Ingham Great Start Collaborative (GSC).
GSC – Birth to Five usually meets the second Wednesday of each month at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 549 E Mt Hope Lansing, from 1-3pm.

Ingham Play and Learn Groups are sponsored by Early On and Great Parents, Great Start. A play group meets at Spartan Child Development Center on Tuesday mornings, 10:00-11:00, during the school year. SPOM provides an opportunity for student-parents to network and discover the many resource available at Michigan State University and in the surrounding communities. Meetings are held monthly during the academic year at Spartan Child Development Center, located at 33 Crescent Road in Spartan Village. The meetings often feature guest speakers who focus on topics affecting student-parents and their families. Please join the Ingham County Great Start Family Coalition! This group is making a difference in the lives of children in our community and by representing ALL families with children ages birth through eight years.
Purpose of the Great Start Family Coalition:
- Build public support for Early Childhood investment.
- Serve as a sounding board for parent members of the Great Start Collaborative (GSC).
- Provide a “Customer” perspective to organizational members of the GSC
- Lend support to GSC related efforts.
- Share family resources
